Noni was found wandering the streets.
Incredibly malnourished and limping severly, our inspectors knew this sweet and frightened pup needed help.
She was only six months old, left to fend for herself in the streets. Can you imagine how frightened she must have been?
On examination, our veterinary team realised Noni had been walking on her injured leg for some time, her nails worn down from dragging it across the ground.
Her x-ray showed a tiny bone fragment that may have been casued by a frature. It's hard to image that such a tiny injury could be the cause of so much pain!
Unfortunately, Noni's injury only seemed to get worse. Our team suspected she was suffering from a long-term injury that had caused permanent nerve damage... causing pain that plagued her everyday.
Our veterinary team decided the best course of action was to amputate.
Noni can now live the rest of her life pain free. She can play, run, and jump like every other dog.
It is your generosity that provides the dedicated care animals like Noni need - from medication, surgery, specialised food, bedding, and support throughout their journey.
Without you, Noni would not have received dedicated veterinary care to help her thrive.
Your kindness is what helps give neglected and abandoned animals like Noni a second chance.
But there are many more dogs and puppies like them are still suffering across South Australia.
Please, if you can, make a loving gift today to provide lifesaving care for abandoned animals.
Thank you to these big-hearted animal lovers!
